Born and raised in a small Rhode Island town, Melanie Lynx became passionate about both singing and performance at a young age. This early performance craft was perfected until she was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music as a vocalist. Now, at just 22 years old, Melanie has earned her degree in Professional Music and has truly found her sound as an original, pop artist.

 

         Melanie’s performance skills have earned her countless competition victories on both a local and national scale. A few of these accomplishments include her participation in Hollywood Week on Fox’s “American Idol Season 10”, and performances at NYC’s the Apollo Theater, Carnegie Hall, and sharing the stage with the legendary Carole King at the Berklee Commencement Concert this past May.

 

         After performing 500+ times at world-renowned venues, she recorded “Naked Heart”, her debut EP as a solo artist. The EP garnered 450+ downloads, was praised by both bloggers and fans, including by at-the-time official Grammy blogger Arjan Writes, who gave the EP “5 out of 5 stars”. She has additionally been featured in countless blogs including on celebrity Perez Hilton’s homepage, Love Twenty, Teen Diaries, Her Campus, Motif Magazine, and was selected to be part of “Live Music Week” for WERS, the #1 college radio station in the country, along with artists like Ladyhawke, LP, Allen Stone, and Good Old War.

The EP was followed by the “Naked Heart Tour”, a one-week east coast tour with multiple shows in Syracuse, NYC, Boston, New Haven, Philadelphia, and Providence where Melanie performed live with her full band in local clubs and theaters. Melanie made a special acoustic appearance nearing the end of the tour in downtown, Los Angeles. Online, Melanie is also thriving, as she’s racked up 65,000+ YouTube views of both cover songs and originals from “Naked Heart”, and is steadily building a loyal following across the board.

 

She recently relocated to New York, NY and is in the beginning stages of working on a full-length album. While she has had massive success for such a short period of time as a solo artist, this is just the beginning.
