    Born July 10th, 1989 in Caen, France, Antoine Katz started his musical journey at the early age of 6, by playing cello. After 12 years of conservatory studies, he decided to switch to electric bass. It’s only after 3 years of playing that he got accepted into the prestigious Berklee School of music, with the European scholarship.

 

  During his time at Berklee, Antoine Katz developed a great versatility and became comfortable playing in a wide range of musical styles with authenticity, from Gospel, Afro Cubanand Jazz to Neo-soul and Arabic music. He has studied with Victor Bailey, John Patitucci, David Fuzcinsky and Bruce Gertz to name a few.

 

     He has played with many artists/groups such as, Patti Austin, Siedah Garrett, Jennah Bell, Casey Benjamin, Gizmo and Dave Mackay Group in venues/festivals such as North Sea Jazz Festival, Blue Note NY, Kennedy Center and NY Winter Jazz Fest.

 

      Now based in Brooklyn, NY, Antoine Katz is currently working as a session musician.
